Hello!
Here is the thread for Berserkers choosing to participate in Dryuary 2026, i.e. no alcohol for the month of January. It is our 6th year!
If you don’t want to go 100% dry, but rather modify your alcohol intake, feel free to stick around. On my end, I haven’t quite decided.
We can also use this thread to discuss other behavior/dietary mods, e.g., intermittent fasting, exercise, eliminating refined carbs, starting a workout routine…
We’re all in this together, so post early and often.
Cheers!
Patrick
I entered the Holidays in a good place. Will have to weigh myself when I get home. That might be the deciding factor. I would like to lose a few more pounds, and giving my liver a break is never a bad thing. I will probably use January to reset and to jumpstart 2026.
I’m trying to decide if I will. We will be snowbirding this year. I’ve been overindulging this month. We will see
Definitely looking forward to a clearer mind and slimmer waistline after a festive season.
Now I just need to choose a good Champagne to end the year on…

I have the wife talked into this experiment. Cutting out carbs at the same time.
We are in, as usual. Dry and dieting.
I cut back radically on alcohol a bit over a year ago, but didn’t completely stop (eliminated beer entirely, and limited alcohol to max 2 nights per week). Lost a ton of weight. I think for January I will stay dry until my anniversary on Jan 22, but I might keep it going after that. Depends on how I’m feeling. Certainly I need a bit of a break after the holiday fun.
I’m actually in this year for the first time ever, if only for the purpose of pre-surgery prep at the beginning of Feb.

I was looking for a reason to start 1/2, thanks.
It sounds like a bleak week on your IG feed next week.

I’ve shifted my period to mid October up to the week of Thanksgiving. It’s a period where I have a lot of things going on getting ready for winter, yet without not as many social events going on. It’s a win/win situation.

I had three consecutive dry days with my mother in law. That counts for a month, right?

I’m in for my 5th Dryuary (not sequentially).
It’s certainly not for everyone.
