Official Dryuary (Dry January) 2025 Thread

What wine for the break-fast Florian?

Same here: purpose driven drinking, no dabbling.

This is cool, we kind of all did this together.

Nathan, i hear you…there is inertia to this dry thing!

I will break my dry spell for Super Bowl weekend, but it will be interesting to see if a general downward trend has been established.

Cheers, mate!

Ditto on the sleep. With a regular schedule of wake before the sun, exercise, work, and something active (or extra active) after work, I’m getting about 8hrs regularly, but also deep 6+ hours of amazing undisturbed sleep every night.

After a pretty rough week of travel, I managed to sleep for 10 straight hours last night (uninterrupted). Mind you, I went to bed at 8 PM from jet lag.

Congratulations to all who did some form of Dryuary!

I’ve got at least 1 more day to go, but for most of you…this is the end.

Enjoy this dreamy Raveonettes version of The Doors’ classic song.

You still have some company. I have to soldier on until Tuesday.

Nothing fancy… a Truttiker Pinot Noir from Niklaus Zahner, a Swiss producer. Honest, multi-layered bouquet with strawberries and a slight hint of oak.

Since I’m trying to lose a few more pounds, I will continue to be mostly dry until our vacation in March.

We’re going to open a bunch of bottles for a lunar new year party tonight, probably mostly our house wines 2016 or 2017 hudelot Bourgogne rouge, 2017 pycm bb, and likely some diebolt vallois prestige

Thanks to Patrick for shepherding the crew.

I have to hang on until Monday in solidarity with a friend. We will break our fast at the kitschiest tourist bar in Marina del Rey. Mai tais at sunset.

Still some more days to go for me - gonna have the first bubbles with my wife’s birthday on Friday…

I’m officially done, but Jonathan wants another month at least, so I will mostly join him, with an exception for Superbowl Sunday and Valentines Day, which was the day Jonathan proposed, so we always celebrate. And on days I really want to. :grinning:

That’s very descriptive! I feel like I know the wine.

still dry, probably will have something either for Super Bowl and/or Valentine’s Day

Went to an open bar birthday party last night. I didn’t want to be tempted so I drove instead of spending the money on a Lyft (40 minutes away from our place). This morning I’m so glad I stayed strong. My very hungover wife is like an advertisement for why that was a good call :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

I ended dry january on friday the 31st, which was planned & justified by having started on 12/29. I’m feeling substantially better than I have in a long time so I could see more of a dewy February in store. Thanks @Patrick_Taylor and the rest of the crew for the usual bonhomie.
