Yesterday I got a Piper Heidsick NV for $29.97 at the Westlake Village CA Costco which was a Marilyn Monroe edition (apparently a special release / commemorative bottle). I do not have any additional preference for the Marilyn Monroe aspect of the offering, but I assume it’s the same juice as the regular NV (not 100% sure) and so seems like decent value for that price.

I finally decided to pick up a bottle of the Testamatta at $30. First glass from Coravin . . . . it’s decent, nothing off or weird, certainly intentionally a less extracted and more light style, acidity is sharp at times. Fair for the price, though missing the layering and complexity I’d expect at its original MSRP, regardless of weight, extraction or more generally style. I’ll see how the rest of the bottle fares.
