I enjoyed two bottles of the 2021 Croix Ducru when it showed up locally last spring, and I was pleased to buy a handful more at $30. If I saw it at our local store for $25, I’d pick up more.
Am I mistaken that this was was $65-$85 just a few years ago?
Lil help…any DFW folks seen the Roderer collection 24whatever anywhere?
Love their wines. Have visited often when in the Alpilles. Total wine has this same wine for 5$ more
Monday night at Fountain Valley. Not much Bordeaux around. The ubiquitous Dauzac and a couple others. But then there was this 2020 Fonbadet. I don’t know it but in looking around online just now $30 seems to be a pretty good price. $36 was lowest I saw on WS with most places being $40 and up. The TN’s I’m reading don’t make it sound all that modern. I’ll definitely pick up a bottle for research soon.
Was perusing the Champagnes as they have several NV’s in quantity. Grabbed a couple more Bollinger. I’m weak. Noticed when I got home that one of the was an L25 so that’s in market now. Sounds like I should probably try a bottle of this Gratien. The Ayala seems steep. There is a Devaux Cuvee D they also have a lot of. I also picked up one of the Cremant for research. Its a nice, plain, straight down the line sparkling Pinot Blanc thing. No real yeasty qualities but fresh and pleasant fruit if that’s your thing.
Also plenty of 2018 Mt Eden Cab and Sea Smoke Chard.
Also a Bourbon barrel aged stout in CostCo box but made by Deschutes.
That’s a bold strategy putting the third wine on the shelf right next to the second wine and pricing it $3 higher.
I doubt whoever arranged that even knew. But I got my bottles so I’m happy
2023 Double Diamond Schrader at $73, is that a good buy?

I would buy a couple at that price. Haven’t seen the 2023 vintage but I am a fan of previous ones. Pricing has moved up around me (non-Costco) to around $100.
I was not a buyer way back when they were $50 ea., so …
