OC TNs (Sea Smoke, Bucella, Miura) and killer dining deal thru T-giving

The Sorrento Grille (http://www.sorrento-grille.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;) in Laguna has a 1/2 off all food and wine through T-giving. Need to make sure you order before 630PM.

The 07 Sea Smoke Southing @ 45 bucks–pretty good but drained within 20 mins. Then 2006 Miura Pisoni @ 52 bucks…I think more complex and better IMO than the SS. Finally, the 2004 Bucella NV Cab for 95 bucks, Comes in a big ass arm curl bottle with a wax logo on the front. Pretty good but glad we did not pay the full fare @ 190–gag.

1/2 price for food and wine—like stealing legally. I thought the meals were better than good. For the OC gang…GO!

Wow, thanks for the tip Frank. Looks like some great pricing on those wines.

it is pretty crazy to pay 1/2 off for everything (except the desserts, which are not discounted). I scoured the list and came up with these three. The SS was an easy choice. But, the food was very good and the entrees, Cris, run about 17-24 each so at 1/2 off, you can get a kobe burger for about 8 bucks and the chicken I had was 8.50. Sick.

The wine list is fairly long but not so much with the wines we often discuss on the BB here. The three I selected are more ‘board-like’ so to speak. Cork is 15 bucks if it matters.

Great deal indeed. I’m glad it gave you the chance to try the 2004 Buccella. I love that wine, as a decadent treat. It is almost like dessert in a glass. And your price was $5 below release price.

Too bad it is in the wrong Orange County. [cry.gif]

Nice head’s up! Thanks.

Thanks for the tip Frank! Sorrento has been consistently good over the years.

How was the SS '07?

Buccella is a great Cab made by Marl Herold. If you got it for $95, that is lower than mailing list prices. NIce score, FMIII.

gotta go…gotta go… great deal. Been going there often, but have not visited in over a year. Time for a return, for sure! Thanks Frank.

The 04 was - but current vintages are no longer made by Herrold. I thing 2006 was his last.
