“Nice read”, “nice article”, “great article,” “nice little article” — seriously? This was nothing more than a fluff piece. Sure sure, the Rhys team deserves to have good things said about them, but this article contained nothing I didn’t already know; I suspect the same holds true for many others here. Hell, the article didn’t even talk about the Rhys team, but rather only about Kevin, and even erroneously credits Kevin for “mak[ing]” their wine. And that makes for a “nice/great article”? Puh-leaze. This article was a snoozer.
That said, Congrats to the Rhys team for even more well-deserved public recognition of the work they’re doing.
Sometimes I see Asimov get criticized here, but I’ve always liked his articles, in general. He is pretty good at getting a lot into what is almost certainly a word per article limit that must make it difficult.
Good publicity for Kevin and the Rhys’ team, and yes we’re not the target audience for Asimov’s article, but one thing I’ve noticed from wine writers is that if a story is worth telling, then it’s worth telling over and over and over… so I believe Brian has a point.
Thanks for all the kind words. We have certainly had more than our fair share of press coverage lately but I always appreciate Eric’s perspective. Back in 2007, his initial coverage really helped get us off the ground and I am very grateful for that.
In all fairness, there is an almost absolute suck-fest of Rhys on this board. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan and happy to buy. But at the same time, how many more times are we going to tell the hot girl that she’s hot? She already knows.
