Unfortunately made other plans for dinner but Iā€™ll be there for the afterparty (noticed my name on the list). This will be my first event - I was thinking champagne but any other suggestions on bottles would be very helpful

Doing a little organizational follow-ups today. And I thought Iā€™d propose two little organization suggestions for the Group. Particularly those bringing 2017 Red Burgundies for the event (most?).

  1. For those bringing 17s, if possible itā€™s always nice to get the wines popped open as soon as possible. Like at 5pm or so for those that have the ability. Iā€™ll probably give my Chapelle-Chambertin a little flash decant as I found that helpful for the January dinner.

  2. We generally have a lot of wines at these (Weā€™ll have many Champagnes & Iā€™m sure other fun things given the groupā€™s tendencies)

It would be fun to mark as many flights/pairings on arrival as possible. People shouldnā€™t need to have empty glasses if there are wines around, but at the same time, with 3ish hours of red wine focus, that allows 3 flights an hour pretty easily (for those most interested in following along). And for those joining in flight mode, itā€™ll help Tasha the more of us bring our own stems. Thatā€™s the best way to ensure more folks get access to 2-3 glasses.

Each table (of our three) will probably have itā€™s own dialogues/rhythms, but even if 20 person conversations might not happen, hopefully multiple 6-8 person conversations can?

All of this is to say that with Tashaā€™s help, I think we can put aside 16-20 wines for pairing/flight purposes and hopefully go through them fairly relaxed. And weā€™ll undoubtedly still have a dozen-plus bottles outside of those flights that will be open & easily shared at leisure.

Itā€™ll be a tight squeeze, but hopefully a few folks can also share a glass if wines get poured out in 18-20 pours instead of the full 22.

This is Event No. 4 now at Noreetuh this past year, and my hope is we can totally keep our usual fun & relaxed tone without much worry. But also maybe add a few more flight comparisons than we did in March or August of last year :folded_hands:

I tend to drink the least at these things, so Iā€™m happy to help with coordination and let everyone else chill at their tables.
