Thanks for letting us know Aaron! Hope we can work it out.
Count me as a maybe for now. Grower champagne + Loire could be a great night
I think so too!
Ha! If we open to a double I vote Alsace and grower bubbles!
-brian
works for me!
I would double vote Alsace and Loire at chambers ![]()
My scheduale is still up in air, but will chime in if it settles and tag online if not.
What am I, chopped liver here? May I join in the fun? Have both Alsace and Loire options.
I think we’re settled on a combo of Alsace and Loire? And of course with a good bottle of grower champagne or two to start!
Any ideas of how to do the flights? If i’d sacrifice anything here i’d ditch the Alsace reds.
Alsace Dry Whites
Loire Dry Whites
Loire red
Combination of sweet wines from Alsace and Loire
@gavin.f I’ll come along with you some other day to Chambers for a visit to the queen of Loire. If we do BYO then maybe Corkbuzz is better? Peter PMed me and said his contact can waive the corkage. Alternatively I’m onboard Jean Pierres recs for doing a chinese spot — would work amazing with sweeter wines.
If we end up being 10 people then it’s the limit for reasonable pours I think? 12-16 bottles total.
Let me know
The most we did at Corkbuzz was 33 bottles… a tad aggressive though.
How many people? ![]()
we had 11 for that one
Hi all
Corkbuzz is not available for the night. Anyone has an alternative or should we do Peking Duck House. Only problem is the stemware.
@jprusack any ideas?
That sounds like a date is decided, what is it?
Seems like May 1st is preferred!
which one was that?
So I think Wu’s Wonton King is the choice, for May 1st. 7PM.
General theme is Alsace and Loire. With a few bottles of grower champagne to start with.
Bottles are not blind, but we need a few blinders to tease in between. Riesling of a different region, a red that could pass as a Cab Franc, a white that could pass as a Chenin Blanc. Something along these lines.
I will bring:
Charles Dufour Terrine et Jardin
Bruno Schueller Eichberg 2003 or Bernaudeau Coqueries 2022
Clos Roche Blanche Côt 2009 or Lenoir Chinon 1989
Jay Miller:
2016 Trimbach 390 anniversary bottling
1989 Huet le mont Debut Pressee
Stemware? Is there any and how good? If anyone lives close by and doesn’t mind bringing then of course that’d be absolutely amazing. Including a Durand.
I haven’t been in the city since 2019, so if anyone wants to help with some organising, I’ll take it ![]()
Confirmed now:

TBC:
I’m not a fan of Wu’s food but I love the theme and they are convenient. And I can do May 1.
Please sign me up.
I’m good for May 1st. Have never done Wu’s actually.
Blind or not is fine with me.
Blind could be interesting bc I find the “lesser” wines of this region to sometimes beat the “better” ones and blind enables.
At the same time, given the sweetness range and sometimes just obscureness, it could be a bit much.
Won’t be able to bring stems this time unfot.
I’ll try to bring extra stems but if someone else can too that would be great
An alternative could be Peking Duck House, but I think we’re even more out of luck concerning stemware there.
@gavin.f I hear you! Maybe let’s do not blind this time, but if a few of us could pack a single blind wine that could ‘tease’ us in a line-up, maybe that’d be fun?
