I’ve been talking with Jin about the event; he’s proposed a very nice menu that should go well with our proposed wines, served family style at approximately $100/pp, similar to what we’ve done at other events there, excited!
With the full 20, we should probably aim for at least 6 bottles of Champagne. I’ll bring 2x of the 2013 Comtes.
So glad you’re working on the menu, Michael. Question: Any chance we can finish with a non dessert course? Neither I nor my +1 really eat dessert these days, and with a lot of Burgundy, I’ve found it helpful to have an extra non sweet course. Just a thought ![]()
We had so much Burgundy at this recent fundraiser I was at, so when they brought out a desert finisher, roughly half of the plates weren’t really touched.
I don’t recall if they did a dessert the last few times I went but I’ll ask.
Thanks for putting this together Michael seems like a good deal to me.
I’m gluten free, so gluten free options would be great (but I can also order separately/a la carte to make it easier).
Probably easier to do that since it’s a set menu. You can also talk to Jin about it, I’m sure he can figure something out.
They are super accommodating for dietary stuff.
Don’t forget the side of cigarettes ![]()
I hear the second last one is good, and if you don’t like beans they can substitute it with Spam …
I’ll be team bubbles, Michael.
Count me in for Team Bubbles, as well. ![]()
Nice, so far it looks like we have some bubbles and red burg, and a little white burg! Right in my wheelhouse.
Happy to bring red/white burg or bubbles. Have a 2017 Sylvie esmonin csj and a jadot clos st Jacques(it’s either 2000 or 2008) if you want another csj. Plenty of other options if there’s a specific hole we’re looking to fill.
Regards,
Brian
I don’t think you have to bring a csj; it would be nice if people had the other 13s to finish our horizontal, but I think it’ll be interesting to try the three that are being brought; you can bring whatever you want that you think will be fun to drink!
For bubbles I’ll bring 2x bottles of 2011 Cedric Bouchard Inflorescence. Haven’t tried VV older than 2019 yet!
Nice! We had the 13 inflorescence and 11 ursules (from mag) in Charleston last year and the inflorescence was great with a sorta coche matchstick thing going on upon opening, excited to try the 11!
I’m excited to pop them open! Excited to try the Comtes, as well!
Sure! I don’t think I’ve had either of those wines!
