As many of you know, our community is not just passionate about wine, but also about making a positive impact on the world through our various philanthropic events and auctions - I’ve marveled (and bragged to others) about this community’s incredible philanthropic culture, led by great Berserkers such as @Frank_Murray_III @Brian_Tuite @J_a_y_H_a_c_k @Chris_Seiber @brigcampbell and all those who participate in the various fundraising events we’re known for, as it is truly impressive and unique, and something we should all be proud of.
With this in mind, I wanted to share something close to home, and something I’m truly excited to share—my wife Jen recently joined a company called Gifts for Good as the VP of Customer Success.
Gifts for Good is a mission-driven company that offers corporate gifts with a purpose, supporting a range of social and environmental causes. If you’re involved in corporate gifting or looking for a meaningful way to thank clients, employees, or partners, I highly recommend checking out what they offer. Not only do their gifts support a wide variety of causes, but they can also provide detailed impact reports so you can see exactly how your gift is making a difference. The gifts are also premium quality so that’s another big plus - no cheap plastic water bottles here, or branded stress balls where the logo flakes off after a few squeezes!
Since 2017, Gifts for Good has donated over $2.7 million to various charitable causes. I had Gifts for Good help me writing the rest of the post…as they can say it better than I can - I tend to get very excited when I talk about it, and I immediately put my money where my mouth is, as I signed up my company StringWorks right away, with a ‘surprise and delight’ set of thank you gifts, as this is the best staff I’ve had in all 27 years of its existence. My employees are of a similar mind/belief system, so I know they’ll appreciate the uniqueness of a thank you gift that actually makes a difference. I’ve also tried guilting @Robert.A.Jr and @K_John_Joseph into pushing their company marketing departments into submission for it…
One other quick and personal piece…when Jen brought home the ‘impact cards’ (the cards inclucded with the gifts, outlining more information about the people who are helped, and how they are helped, I couldn’t keep from getting teary-eyed. To have a job that TRULY makes a difference is something many of us would absolutely love to have, and I’m so happy she has it, I’m so proud.
