Night 6 in Telluride

1998 Billecart-Salmon Champagne Cuvée Nicolas-François Billecart - Extremely lively and a very good but young wine. Hold or drink.

1990 Karthäuserhof Eitelsbacher Karthäuserhofberg Riesling Auslese #13 - Light yellow color, nice petrol and peach nose, stonefruit and lemon with good acidity. Lovely stuff.

1983 J.L. Chave Sélection Hermitage Blanche - Not really dead but nothing interesting

1997 Dehlinger Cabernet Sauvignon - Really still tight and tannic at this point. Finally opened up at the end of the evening but this still needs several years to shine.

1977 Chateau Montelena Cabernet Sauvignon The Montelena Estate - The nose is starting to fade just a bit but the palate is still holding very strong. I’d drink now.

1979 Penfolds Grange - Still quite youthful. Dusty, fruity nose. Whiffs of soy/Asian spice. Roasted meats, with hints of soy, coffee, and still plenty of dark fruits - blueberry and blackberry. Drink or hold.

1985 Graham Porto Vintage - Very young still but a perfect end to the evening. I’m still feeling it this morning.

I love me some 85 Graham’s

nice work!

Come home soon, Major, I’m afraid you are going to run out of wine… for us to drink!!

Is that 83 Chave and 77 Montelena Napa? Nice!

Nice wines, indeed.

I’m glad to see Saxon finally managed to take a little time off from his busy schedule and relax a little bit.
