Nick the best of the 96 Krug were as fresh as the 95 we had with even more power and vivacity on the palate and finish with abundant brioche and mousse.

Alex’s point on the exhibition of flaws/vulnerabilities within certain comparisons is super eloquent. Makes wonderful sense to me, conceptually.
Nick, I’ve had a lot of great bottles of 96 Krug and only a couple of relative duds. IIRC, folks experienced variation, particularly in the mid two thousand teens, that generally seemed like the description of this bottle - very good but showing aged but in some cases odd. All bottles were “from the brand” original owners, so unlikely to be storage issues.
