If you like GV you should definitely try the new generic 2008 Gõbelsburger. It goes for about $16. It is very smooth and rich for a generic GV with loads of pineapple and marsh mallow. While not quite as precise or clean as their single vineyards offerings I still feel that it is a great value.
This came out this weekend after we had just finished the outstanding 2003 Tablas, Esprit and worked quite well as a little after dinner aperitif to clean the palates after a great Indian feast.
