Next of Kyn - What is it worth to you?

Holy moly.

My number wasn’t called for the initial offering, and I suppose if you want something bad enough and have the means…

I did note that this is for a magnum. Probably very rare I imagine.

Three hundred sets each with a magnum

I picked up more than a few boxes of this stuff. I’m anxious to try it out. With that said, I’d gladly trade one of my boxes for some SQN that I need. Anyone have some E-Raised, Hospice du Rhone, Poker Face or Inaugural grenache?

there’s always someone who has to have it - whatever it happens to be.

I’m in the camp that isn’t sure I would even find the asking price from the winery worth it. I delayed responding long enough to make sure I stayed on the waiting list…

cheers,
fred

I got the email offering and didn’t run for my wallet & pull the trigger either. I had a hard time justifying SQN’s “2nd label” to be more than 2x the cost of their flagship wines…aren’t 2nd labels cheaper???

  1. It’s not a second label. It’s a different label. Different wines. Different fruit sources.
  2. Pricing of NOK was exactly consistent with SQN pricing for their extended barrel age wines.
  3. The same bidder who is going crazy on the mag is also going nuts on 3x750ml in a separate lot.

this stuff is amazing

the only winery I know of that could package some third year fruit and sell it for the crazy price that they did

4th year actually… [stirthepothal.gif]

It will be even more collectible I guess if Pierce’s Disease ravages the vineyard as has occurred with other producers in the Ventura/Ojai area. There’s a reason why Adam Tolmach and Old Creek Ranch source so much from SBC . . . .

I read an old article, several years ago, and the Krankls talked about the measures they were taking to avoid the sharpshooter/Pierce’s - we’ll see how well they do!

Still looking for a bottle. PM me wtih an offer. - Ben
