Ubani - West Village
-BYOB Days: All days
-Cost: $20
Ai Fiori also brought the goods for a group of us last night on Free corkage Monday. Food was all around very good. They allowed us to open 6 bottles and provided quality glassware, an ice bucket, and spittoon. Big round table, service on point. Definitely recommended for a group.
Update on Tartine:
They would let you bring first BYOB for free for party of two and then charge $15 for the second. Party of four they will double the number of exempt bottles and so on.
Tempura Matsui $75
Atera $100
Tuome $50
Asian-inspired contemporary food in East Village
They’ve held their michelin star for a while now
Here is another (relatively) up to date list. Lots of overlap but some interesting ones.
Reposted from article in winetalk – The Modern $35. Pretty incredible deal for 2025.
Update as I was going through this thread:
Rosa Mexicano has a $25 corkage fee per bottle. Mon-Sun
Anyone bring wine to Peter Lugers? I’ve heard they allow it for $50 but other older sites show no corkage. Happen to be going for a late lunch Sunday and would rather bring some burg than drink their terrible stuff. If anyone brought wine, were they cool about it?
I would call and ask
$50 corkage it is at peter luger. same meh glassware but my meal was made infinitely more enjoyable with some chambolle musigny.
nakaji $100
Kanoyama $40
That’s a big change from their old policy of absolutely no corkage. I remember years back offering them $250 a bottle. Not that I would have paid that but I was just trying to see at what number they would allow corkage.
They were super cool about it too. I think they know their wine sucks.
Do you, by any chance, know if PL allows multiple byo bottles per table?
dont know a limit…i called during earlier opening times and…egads…a nice person shared the corkage info. waiter seemed happy to open and decant my bottle.
Just came back from Ubani West village Georgian restaurant. Again, I highly recommend this place. Great wine selection and $20 corkage, sometimes waved if you engage in small talk with the manager on wine and buy few glasses from them. The food is great too.
Interesting policy at Delmonico’s. It used to be $50 corkage before they reopened so I took a bottle just in case as we had made a last minute reservation. Asked the waitress and she says you have to email the wine director to have your bottle approved and that it would be $150 corkage. I didn’t get the feeling that she was 100% that was the policy.
Ended up ordering a Bereche and Cantemerle off their list.
