New wine gizmo reads temp and PH of wine...

… “so you don’t end up with sour grapes”. WTF??? I bet a lot of board faves would be off the charts “bad” on the PH front.

One of the dumbest things I can imagine. I would love to know the accuracy (+/- %age) of the pH meter on this thing. Especially after a handful of uses and banging around in a utensil drawer. Also, pH with no context is not a really useful measurement of a wine.

Any other pros wanna chime in on this?

I can honestly say that, in forty years of drinking wine, I’ve been able to tell is something is too warm or too cold with my hand and never ONCE asked “I wonder what the PH of this thing is?”.

And, what do you do if the PH is “bad” pour it down the drain?

I hope it doesn’t make bottles “blowed up.”
