They’re here and they’re GORGEOUS!
So excited!
My Sb came yesterday, we be cracking one open for the holiday. Great to see this project take off!
How long did you decant or slow-ox for? I thought Dustin mentioned 6-8 hours to me when we tasted, but I also could be making that up. ![]()
Haha opened that AM and did slow ox for around 12 hrs or so. They 100% need like 5-7 years before they should begin being opened (someone in another thread said ferrari stuck in 3rd gear haha), but I love opening em, so just gonna have to find more when I run out haha
Was that the 2023 Mowe? (mine arrived earlier this week)
@D_Mowe what’s your current guidance on decanting for the 2022 cab? I was going to hold my last bottle for a few years but I’m leaning toward opening it for my father when he’s here next week. Thought I’d do the same with a 2022 MACDONALD and maybe a 2022 Palisades Canyon. Seems like a fun trio of wines to open with him.
Hi Andrew - I think a cork pull and pull a taste and close up to slow ox for a good 24 hours is showing really well. If the situation doesn’t lend itself to that, do it morning of or give a couple hours in the decanter before going for it - the wine definitely benefits from air.
for 2023’s - they are babies and need even more to shine.
Thanks, Dustin - much appreciated!
@T.Phillips Thanks for sharing this. Really an incredible honor to be on a list with those producers. I’m actually in a bit of shock… We have put everything we have into this and to see this type of recognition means the world

Brilliant. My “to do” list for the next year! My whole tasting group liked the Mowe that much it seemed. This is a good list too because I’ve been meaning to drink more Margaux and Haut Brion. ![]()
congrats Dustin!
Happy New Year to you and Renee, cheers…
The recognition is earned, not given. Excited to see what’s next!
I took a client out to dinner last evening and brought along a '23.
Per @D_Mowe Dustin’s guidance, decanted 8 hours before, then back in bottle after giving it a half hour of air. Decanted again for an hour while we worked through the pre dinner bourbon.
This wine is worthy of the accolades and the excitement is justified.
My first time really sitting with this wine (had a glass of the '22 at a tasting with Monica Stevens in Napa last year) and could immediately tell this wine is in the upper upper echelon of Napa Cabernet. There is so much there and it will continue to improve with further sleep time in the cellar. Last sip was the best sip.
Congrats Dustin and Renee, you two have a special project here for sure.
Love hearing the feedback. Thanks for sharing Brian and glad the decant advice worked.
Cheers🍷
Had the 23 Cab last night. Really drinkable wine, there is quite nice balance of oak which is present at this stage and after a few hours in the decanter it is super approachable. Nose is lavender/lilac and dark fruit. Palate is blue/black and more in the medium-full body range than being a crazy bruiser. Very well made wine. It was sort of a centerpiece to taste with a good friend last night and we also sampled a 2019 Leoville Poyferre. I love bordeaux, but this type of Napa wine is way more appealing and crushable for me. Delicious.
