Received the same email. I had not heard of this until this morning. Maybe I missed something during the past release. I am in for what is offered. Hopefully a few mags like the 2012 Sparky.
I just received the mailer. There were 100 cases bottled in 600 Magnums (just doing the math) of this wine, $400 per bottle, 1 bottle allocation. I think unless you are truly close with Mr. Schrader and Mr. Brown, this will be limited to one per person. The bottling will ship with the rest of the 2012 portfolio orders from last fall.
Question for the resident winemakers - Generally speaking, does removing these special barrel selections affect quality of the ‘regular’ bottlings, or are the regular wines made in such quantities that any distinction these special barrels posses would just be lost in the bottling tank?
I’m thinking specifically, does pulling these barrels out impact the quality of the new Schrader LPV? Does the production of Old Sparky impact quality of the remaining wines in the portfolio?
KB 4-barrel, etc…
