Never enough white wines!

The correct answer is not based on how many bottles you have, it’s about how much more one feel like adding to the collection :clinking_glasses:

Yes, this is really special.
However, there are others,
just for instance
FX Pichler Riesling Smaragd Kellerberg 1998
Rudi Pichler Riesling Smaragd Achleiten 2007
Domaine Wachau Riesling Achleiten 2001
etc

That’s a pretty special bottle and for me at peak now. That Salil guy knows a bit about Riesling.

The 2001 Hirtzberger Grüner Veltliner Honivogl is right there with it.

We had that exact bottle on Easter and it was terrific.

Nice, Ken. We had the 2000 a couple years back- late in the night after many Burgundies- and many at the table shared a similar enthusiasm.

For me, this was a new world. I’ve had a fair number of good Austrian wines, but I never had one at this level. My mind was blown.

Maybe we should do that swaperoo we’ve been talking about if you feel like trying my Chenin blanc from Washington…

I bought a case of 2023 inama soave from saratoga for $180 shipped :joy:

For sure … shouldn’t you winemakers be trading for each others wares on the regular?

Chenin. Not a lot of it in Oregon. But . . . Ridgecrest, started by Harry Peterson Nedry (Chehalem Wines) and his daughter Wynn. They make a Chenin that we have poured and it is awesome! Solid pricepoint, beautiful fruit and acidity. Young and fun!

My consumption of red vs. white wines over the last 12 years or so since I started with CellarTracker is about 50-50 (technically 51.6% reds and 48.4% whites).
Sparkling wines (mostly from Champagne) were 5.6% of my consumption and dessert wines were 5.3 percent of my consumption.

By type of wine:

32% red Burgundy
17% MSR
14% white Burgundy
7.5% red Bordeaux
5.4% Champagne
5% California reds (mostly Cab and Zin)

This only shows wines I have opened from my cellar, not wines I have drunk at restaurants, etc.; wines from friends cellars, etc. Also, it includes wines I have given away (mostly to my daughter and her husband).

I want in too - @Erica_O_r_r ???
