Todd, Paris is a town for lovers. Maybe your wife wasn’t in love when she visited the City of Light. Go as a couple and maybe your/her views will change.
San Sebastian is dope! One of my favorite cities in the world. Food lovers mecca. My wife and I spent 3 days there with a private guide - all food all of the time. Well maybe a gallery or two. Beautiful city - both the old town and the new modern. The crescent shaped beach is awesome with an island in the middle. It rained the whole time we were there and it did not make a difference. Cant wait to get back there.
We ate at The World’s 50 Best Restaurants | The List and Awards and The World’s 50 Best Restaurants | The List and Awards. Both other worldly in their own right. Mugaritz was 16 courses with wine pairings to die for. Extebarri was so unique and absolutely delicious. The highlight however was the pintxos crawl through old town. Incredible food, simple wines and beer. Most pintxos were free as long as you order a drink or two. Be sure to finish the night with a gin and tonic. The Spaniards love them and have taken them to new heights. Official drink of San Sebastian.
Since you are there for 3 days I highly recommend a day trip to Bilbao if nothing else than to see the Guggenheim. Go in the morning and stop at Extebarri on way back.
Have fun!
