Each vintage I need one case at least, so please PM when you got any.
any one?

Winesearcher, Winezap, Winebid…
Looks suspiciously like a scam to me, especially an entire case of less-than-stellar vintages…

P–OK, thanks, it just seemed very odd.

It is odd…an attempt to bottom feed for case qty of wine that is easily and readily flippable in the HK/Chinese market.
where do you think it’s all going. He made 1 offer to me and it seemed fair.

I have no problem with it going to hong kong as long as I am happy with the price.

yep. Not like we have connections with HK to sell Lafite directly to. There are a bunch of Chinese guys living in the US that buy up Lafite here and take it back to HK. One wine store owner in LA does that exact thing.
I guess that I, along with others here, have a concern that someone only comes to this forum to source wines to be sold overseas for a serious profit. If their business model is to sell only Lafite to the Oriental market, more power to them…I would rather see them get the wines from legitimate sources.

I think it’s up to the powers-that-be if Commerce Corner is used for that sort of commercial activity. My issue was that given the request for full cases of somewhat off-vintages, it seemed possible that it was one of those scams that retailers mention where the buyer isn’t on the up-and-up.

but what if they offer you a very very fair price for your wines? Let’s say 10-15% more than you’d find at auction or marketplace?

Something tells me that this “buyer” is not really offering more.

I don’t think that this request fall into this category…
“Buy, sell, and trade goods with other forum members - private sales only”

is he not asking to buy goods from other forum members? it is a private sale between the two of them. (i.e. him and jordan) There doesn’t seem to be a restriction on what the other person does with the wine afterwards…

I think that it is implied that the people seeking to purchase/sell wines are doing it for personal consumption and not a money making venture. Maybe I am wrong, and this again is my opinion of what is going on.
Personally, I don’t think people should be out buying wines at discounts or at auction and then moving them here for profit as a significant source of their personal income either.
Addendum:
That is what Winecommune, Winebid, etc. are for. This should be about forum members helping one another out and not trying to make a buck.
