I’m planning a suprise for my father who turns 84 this Wednesday. I’ve invited him to a wine group that meets every Wednesday as a guest for his birthday. The format is a blind tasting.
For the dessert wine I’ve planned on taking a bottle of the 1925 (his birth year) Domaine la Coume du Roy Maury. I need a little help on this.
Has anyone had this vintage recently, and what was the wine like?
The dessert wines are usually served in a port glass. Is this the best glass for this type of wine, or would a normal white glass be substituted?
What would be a good pairing for the desert on this?
Also should it be served at room temp? Or slightly chilled?
Also I have been looking up history on the vintage of this wine. Looks like it had stayed in the tanks/fudors for over 70 years. Can anyone elaborate on the history of this wine?
Any help would be great!
