Need Champagne restaurants, staying in Reims

Already booked Le Parc, wife not excited re lots of 3 hour meals but . . . need good places with great wine lists

Scare Burger, the glue pot, Le Jardin are ones on my list.

Just went to Reims in September. Seconding Sacre Burger - great list, good burger. Though, when we went a TON of bottles were sold out. Come prepared with a back-up and second back-up pick if you’re looking at the list ahead of time.

While they don’t have a list, per se, ATOME (formerly known as Au Bon Manger) is a must. The best meal and experience we had in Reims. Eric and Aline are incredible hosts and the whole experience was so much fun. It really felt like dining with old friends.

Not sure what your budget is, but l’Assiette Champenoise has a great list
but it’ll definitely be another 3 hour meal, haha!

It’s not in Reims, but if you like Selosse I highly recommend Les AvisĂ©s. Bottle prices are about 1/3rd of retail. Fairly casual experience for lunch (definitely not 3 hours - at least it wasn’t for us) and the food was very good. Super happy we made the drive down.

Enjoy the trip! We had a blast in Champagne - can’t wait to go back.

l’Assiette Champenoise is utterly spectacular, and yes, a full 3 hours at least

For lunch, I recommend the cafe at Ruinart. Open to anyone, and the prix fixe is a steal. Plus all access to some killer BTG.

Second the mentions of Glue Pot, Le Jardin, Sacre Burger, Racine and L’Assiette. Spectacular.

If in Epernay, go to Sacre Bistro. Ramonet BTG for 8 euro. Insane.

Thanks, all.

We did Glue Pot which was tasty for casual fare. Eric and Aline’s place (ATOME) is superb - highly recommend. We did 4 course lunch at Racine and it was just over 2 hours, but excellent.

We’re adding a day to our honeymoon so we can eat here.

There last summer. Le Parc will not disappoint. Best meal (and overall experience) we had of our entire Champagne/Bordeaux/Paris trip.

Sacre Bistro in Epernay is fantastic if you are down that way.

If you want to take a look at the wine list at Les Avisés, send me a PM,

Les CrayĂšres is a great place to stay, especially if dining at Le Parc and/or le Jardin

I’d love to help you, but I don’t remember eating much in Reims or Epernay.

In point of fact, my memories of most things in those two cities are pretty vague.

Perhaps something will bubble up?

Hi Alan,

we ate at Le Jardin in November and the food was good. I had asked a friend who had recently dined at Le Jardin, whether one can request the tome that is the wine list from the main restaurant next door. She confirmed that she did just that. Once seated I enquired as to whether I could do the same. After a fairly long wait our young somm came back and said it wasn’t possible because their chief sommelier was not on. The standard list would have to suffice, and don’t feel sorry for me, it is a list that is chock full of highly desirable things at fair prices. We ended up with a 1999 Domaine Amiot-Servelle Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru ‘Derriùre La Grange’ that was in stonking form.

cheers
Jeremy

Alan,
We have been at Les Avisés for the past four days.

The food is “elevated” bistro and is very good.
I can email you the wine list if you like.
