Heading out to Vegas tomorrow for March Madness and looking for a Sunday dinner recommendation. We have 4 nights planned Raku, L’atelier, “e” by Jose Andres, LOS in that order but still have Sunday open. We dont want to do steak or another formal/large course option. One thought would be to do a great brunch early then watch the games after, does anyone have experience with brunch in Vegas ( I love a good champagne brunch ) or maybe something that just cant be missed for another dinner? Thanks.
Don’t know where offhand, but I am positive that you could find a good brunch in Vegas. It is the only place I have ever seen that can seem to offer a myriad of good buffets that you actually want to eat from. Last time there, we ate fairly well at such a place in Paris. You could probably do even better at some more composed restaurants, but probably not necessary for brunch. Just ask the concierge and you will probably be good.
Well, it’s no champagne brunch, but the best breakfast I know in Vegas is at the locals diner chain called Blueberry Hill. Fantastic pancakes and french toast. Not fancy in any way, but a great, hearty meal.
I’d check out Bouchon for brunch.
Also, I’d pass on L’Atelier if I were you. I have felt like it’s gone progressively downhill each time I’ve been there (I was initially very impressed several years ago). Plus, the layout is fairly awkward if you don’t get one of the few tables on the left side. Sitting at the counter with more than 3 people is awkward. By all means avoid the “table” at the back of the restaurant near the bathroom -it’s basically just a small counter facing the wall.
I disagree about l’Atelier, but then I have never hidden my admiration for these restaurants.
Actually, one of my favorite brunch spots is Mesa Grill in Caesar’s. I have eaten there numerous times, but only for brunch, and it has always been good.

I’d go Bellagio for brunch
I’m flying out there tomorrow too. Probably go straight to LOS for lunch. Not sure what I’m doing for dinners yet except Saturday trrying Mexican place a friend raves about called Mundo. I second John’s pick of Mesa Grill for brunch.
I always wanted to try Raku. Maybe this trip or next.
Well, I’ve never been to any of the other ones but definitely felt like the Vegas outfit is sliding downhill. My meal there last March was bad enough to make me cross it off my list.
I did Mesa Grill for lunch once. It was fine, but I’m generally not a fan of Bobby Flay so I’m not all that inclined to return.
Going back at the end of the month and have reservations at Michael Mina and Scarpetta. Never been to either and am looking forward to it.
Forgot to mention, Robert, but if you want a really over-the-top breakfast, I’d strongly recommend Hash House A Go Go in the Imperial Palace.
Milos in the Cosmopolitan was great for fish. B&B in the Venetian had two of the best appetizers I have ever had, rabbitt confit, grilled Octopus with killer Lemoncella Vinegarette
Robert, I loved Raku and hope you enjoy it too. If you want something delicious, two doors down from Raku in the same complex is a Japanese Ramen place called Monta (I think that’s what it’s called). For $8, the most delicious broth, soup, and meat in one bowl. Delicious…Since Raku is closed on Sundays, we went there instead and had a delicious Tonkatsu noodle bowl.
We also did the Bellagio Buffet with it’s champagne brunch.
Maybe check out Burger Bar in the Mandallay Bay? Their burger was pretty good.
+1 - We go out of our way to make sure we have brunch reservations at Mesa whenever we are in Vegas. The chilaquiles are unbelievable.
We love Sensi at the Bellagio or Julian Serrano at Aria for an unusual lunch on Sunday.
For brunch, The Verandah at the Four Seasons. Relaxing, outdoor ambiance and the main reason to go is to order the huevos rancheros; seriously, they’re that good!

Just wanted to pop back in and say thanks all for the recommendations.
As for Sunday we ended up at Bouchon. My wife really wanted to go back and it was a good compromise for Brunch.
Raku was good casual fun with very good food again. Probably the only Tofu I will ever eat, fresh homemade with green tea salt…mmm
LOS was very fun and really great food (not to mention bargain wine!), but I think it just couldnt live up to the hype for me no matter what. I will certainly revisit on our next trip, but before having been there I felt like I needed to fly to Vegas just to experience the place.
L’Atelier was probably the opposite of LOS in that Ive read many negatives about the place. We had quite the opposite experience though. We had the full tasting menu and I think every dish was excellent except for a king crab dish. And the Foie stuffed quail mmmmmmm.
“e” was more of a fun experience than a best food meal ever type dinner. Fairly casual and interactive with the prep being done right in front of you. A bit traditional and a bit molecular, the food was hit and miss in my opinion. If you’ve hit up all the other big names then it’s probably worth the experience though. If anybody has heard the 25 second microwave Angel Food cake recipe I would love to have that…
One thing about Vegas is there is certainly never a lack of what to do next. We were worn out but still have a huge too do list, thanks again for the recs.
