GRACE was one of our favorite places, but a long trek from MB. It closed last year and it appears that its chef/owner Neal Fraser is re-surfacing in new place here in MB. [cheers.gif]

He’s going into the former “Beaches” which is the best location/view restaurant in the South Bay, but, through several iterations, had always just sold the view and hoped you wouldn’t notice the lousy food. This is in addition to David LeFevre (formerly chef at Water Grill) about to open a restaurant just a block away from Fraser’'s. So, the culinary choices here are going to continue to upgrade (Darren’s is our current favorite), as will the average cost for a night out. With Fraser in charge, hopefully the QPR will be reasonable, but I suspect that he and his partner, Zislis Group (Shade Hotel, etc.) will be aiming for a high end customer. We’ll see.

That’s great news. When we lived in MB it was sad how few good restaurants there were. Never really understood it.

Well, the article says he will be “Executive Chef” so he may well be planning something in Downtown as well. The contractors are going full blast on both new restaurants in MB right now so that they can catch the beginning of summer.
