According to various media sources, today February 18 is National Drink Wine Day (not to be confused with National Wine Day, which apparently is May 25). I am a fairly cynical person, so I’m sure that this is a completely concocted “national day” without any legitimacy whatsoever, and probably created by some industry group to get the masses to drink more Barefoot or Yellow Tail or whatever. Having said that, I say that there is no good reason NOT to celebrate this completely artificial holiday. Open a good bottle tonight in honor of National Drink Wine Day!

I celebrate National Wine Day on every day that ends in “y.”
