Visited Outpost and thoroughly enjoyed. The setting and space are beautiful and the view is great. I think it’s a great place to visit and I really like the wines.
I haven’t visited Heitz in 6-7 years but it was a higher traffic spot last time we went. I adore their wines and history, but the visit wasn’t inspiring. It sounds like one now might be able to pay $ to get a more intimate visit so hopefully an “experience” at Heitz is moving in the right direction.
Chappellet is a great visit. We had a fabulously scenic visit and lunch at Kuleto which is nearby and looks out over Chappellet and Pritchard Hill, but last I heard the tasting facilities burned.
Others that have stood out: Pott on Mt Veeder, Hendry, Caldwell for the cave tasting with John, Schramsberg for bubbles.
Covert in Coombsville would be a great stop as well! Theorem on Diamond Mountain is TRB and a fantastic venue and I’ve really enjoyed their wines although they are getting a bit pricey like everything in Napa right now.
Whoa, the tag is a bit high for a winery I never interacted with. Gotta find a bottle outside to see if I like their wine before knocking on the door. Thanks for the info!
Thank you for the rec , Elise! We also have an amazing view and property and the wines wow what a long finish and representative of the struggle it is to grow on a hillside and on rock.
