My Dilemma.... Fred Mugnier

I am so in love with Fred Mugnier’s wines.
Purity. Seductive fruit. Classic Chambolle to me.
I could really buy only his wines and be happy.
Probably not a wise plan I know.

I do like variety. This is one of those producers however that I could be happy as a sole provider.

Should I or shouldn’t I?

No. You should not. Nothing to see here. Now move along and let the rest of us addicts, er, Burgheads, buy some. [wink.gif]

Absolutely not!!!

Apart from the “there won’t be any left for me” type jokes, the one thing I treasure about wine is its incredible variety, the styles, flavors the way it matures. You have the wonderful matrix of nature and winemaker. Sticking with one producer would be like forever forced to watch movies with one solitary color- say bright red. Fantastic at times, ultimately so incredibly boring.

Paging Leo.

confused here – what exactly is your dilemma?

I haven’t been shopping for wine much lately, so I’m a little behind the curve…but I could have sworn I saw an offer of a vosne romanee village from Mugnier (can’t remember from where at the moment).

That only adds to the variety offered.

Maybe saw another wine from NSG as well.

Anyone familiar with this?

Don…so many other GREAT options out there. Variety is the spice of life…right?

probably mugneret. rhymes w/ mugnier.

Mugnier doesnt make any Vosne. Only Chambolle and a NSG

Mais oui!

hey, they’re great wines. enjoy the phase and drink. some phases never end. if you like it. drink it, is my motto.

[scratch.gif] I’ll see what I can find in old emails…I don’t think I’d mistake the two reading, I’m particularly a fan of Mugneret.

This is why all I am able to get locally is the NSG Clos de Marechale. Don has cornered the market on his Chambolle. I have informed his sources that they will stick Mugnier CM labels on Temecula pinot that is in the pipeline for Don.
