Ha! Fair enough.
Even though bias is evident, Domaine Serene Grace Vineyard has a history of turning out phenomenal wines. Some of Oregonās highest rated WS PN has come out of this vineyard over the years.
I can long for the day when those wines were $65 each opposed to today, but the quality is still outstanding.
This is an interesting question because so many fewer vineyards in Oregon are shared in production vs in burgundy. looks like that debate is already happening, but my main nominee would be Maresh Vineyard
Lots of great vineyards mentioned. I too love Maresh but also love RR and Eola-Amity AVAs . One to add is Le Puits Sec. The vineyard and Evesham Wood make great wine.
Oh I would also consider Seven Springs and Freedom Hill on this list
Would be a killer Oregon pinot tasting to do a couple of blind flights from the same vineyard and vintage but different good producers, and then a couple of blind flights from a good producer in several good vineyards.
I mean, one tasting wouldnāt be definitive or āproveā anything, but if the wines were chosen smartly, it could pretty interesting and informative.
Very cool indeed!
I did in fact do that recently (with a vineyard that shall remain anonymous) and the results proved interesting. Multiple vintages. Some heavy handed winemakers made it difficult assess the quality of the fruit/vineyard.
Do you have TNs, or even just any general recollection of it you could share?
Heavy handed as in too much new oak?
