Did you look at the “Ipad wine list” or only the physical one? The Ipad list has wines dating all the way back to like 1904 with so many wines all the way up to present day.
Karthauserhof is one of my favorite producers, very cool that you got to go there. If you ever go back to Ayl, you should reach out to Nico Weber from Margarethenhof. I did my first internship in winemaking with them when I lived in Germany.
The export markets are big for German wines! And I had the feeling that the appreciation for German wines in Germany is growing which is great to see. We make some amazing wines! I love to see the interest in German wines here in the US!
I missed this thread! @Tejas_Sathian welcome and great write up!
Thank you @Robert_Dentice! I have you to thank for helping me to set out on this riesling journey! I’m very grateful for the German wine community in NYC and beyond.
I am a moron.
For work, I just spent 3 days in Morbach thinking “what the heck is there to do in here” and didn’t even think about doing a few wine tastings.
Great writeup! I know what I’ll do next time I’m over there.
