We were on Etna for three days in the spring. It was active the whole time. At night it looked like that photo. We were lucky and the wind shifted so we could fly out on our last day. There is a low rumble every min or so. Kind of like a big truck going by really fast. May have to drink a bottle of Terre Nere prephylloxera Don Peppino to placate Vulcan.
