Has anyone tried the Moone Tsai Cor Leonis? If so thoughts? Seems a pricey for a relative new label.
Have not tasted that specific bottling, but FWIW, here’s a brief write-up by Eric Anderson of Grape-Nutz.com of a visit a few of us made to Moone Tsai in late 2011:
Visit to Moone Tsai Wines, 12/13/11
I have had it and it’s very good. One of the few higher end Napa Cab blends that really surprised me. His Chard is also fantastic.
I highly recommend trying MooneTsai wines. They are great wines! Larry and MaryAnn Tsai are truly great people. A ride out to the Caldwell cave to visit them will not disappoint. We have a complete vertical of Cor Leonis, minus the '07 which I keep forgetting that I need to gt my hands on. Every vintage is spectacular. The Hillside blend and their Chards are way tasty as well!
I have no idea what you wrote. I’m still checking out your avatar.
+1, great wines, great people.
I like the Hillside Cuvee as well.
SC Chard is lights out.
Lol. Birthday present from the wife. Once your done checking that out, you should check out some MooneTsai! Its just as nice. lol. And as Ian stated, the Sonoma Coast Chard is by far one of the best!
