Monthly check-in: Cellar inventory reduction plan

June
In 6
Out 21
Net -15

Edit: I went down 15 bottles but my inventory on CT increased. I guess checking in pending deliveries increases your inventory without affecting your purchase numbers for that month? My inventory increased by 29 bottles.

Decent month. I was pretty disciplined for VD, although the ā€œinā€ column really needs to go to zero

In: +20. Out: - 31. Net: -11. YTD: +73.

Wow, I bought a whole bunch this month. Maybe 50 bottles? And consumed 6-8?

Not doing so good, I guess :man_shrugging:?

This is not the thread for you. Skedaddle.

What? Why?

Because this is a thread for people who are honestly, genuinely trying to reduce their cellars. We check in every month and try to support each other. Sometimes we laugh at each other and ourselves, but it is not a joke thread.

You are not trying to reduce your cellar. Your post here was only in jest. That’s all fine, but it does not make you a part of the group trying to reduce. I don’t insert myself into the cellar accumulation thread. Or threads about wines I don’t follow, because I don’t belong there.

Oh wow, I’m sorry. I had no idea. I must have misunderstood the thread - I didn’t post anything in jest. Sorry.

I think most of us just track bottles purchased and bottles consumed, for purposes here.

Sarah explained it well and nicely.

Overseas 1st half of the month.

Most of the month I’ve been away on holiday in our house in Piemonte and picked up a few bottles while here so + 1 for the month. Will surely be back on track reducing in August.
This month it is two years since I joined this thread and it has surely helped me keep focus on the needed task. I am 527 bottles down and continuing, thanks for all your support :folded_hands:

A couple of allocations quickly undid the progress I had planned for July 2026, so it’s probably time to try scaling back purchases rather than attempting to outdrink them.

Consumption was assisted by a family get together in July but offset with Cain 5 purchase from last bottle.

No reduction this month. I was close to negative for the year and then Carlisle hit and I took some Bedrock as well. 6+ cases of Carlisle for the year for me. I assume this will be much lower next year as Mike wind’s down his releases.

July
+53

For the year
+190, excuse the Carlisle bump

July fail:
Drank 10
Bought 15

assuming two for dinner tonight:
minus 11 for the month (48 in and 59 out) and minus 42 for the year.

one encouraging trend is number of purchases are down three straight years (7.8% YoY)

Second month in a row with no purchases. Not unheard of but I see a trend!
