My inventory showed I had an interesting mixed case of Mugneret Gibourg Echezeaux. Given the price, I was planning to sell them until I discovered the error.
It turned out that they were Mongeard Mugneret; decided to open a bottle of the 1989. Very surprised by it. It was light, but had a remarkable nose of smoky fruit and spices. Complex on the palate, the one fault was that the finish was medium; given the impact on the palate I had hoped for a little more. Still a very nice, slightly old-fashioned Burgundy.
