This is a call for Dallas/Fort Worth-based fans of Pinot noir, or those who might want to slip in to DFW for a special tasting event.
A little history. Most of you have seen the threads over on the Wine Talk forum about alcohol, balance, spoofilation, and the Pinot Noir Kerfuffle involving Eric Asimov, Jim Clenendon, Raj Parr, Adam Lee and others. I was pretty vocal on the low alcohol, elegance, transparency to terroir, anti-intervention side, you may recall.
Well here’s one thing that came of the conversation, and is the reason for this event:
Any interest? I know it’s a little early, but once I get the list semi-finalized I will find us a location.
Thanks again to Adam. This ought to be a lot of fun.
CURRENT ATTENDEE LIST:
Lewis Dawson
Bill “Tex” Landreth
Michael Bowden (maybe)
Darin Kendrick
Mike Miller
David T.
Brad Schier
Tom Gutting +1
Alston Williamson +1
Looks like I can make it. I’ve got some fair to middlin’ red burgs from 1998 on that I can bring. Let me know what sorts of wines to snatch out of remote storage and I’ll bring some to taste.
Jim – looks like I’ll be able to make it +1! We’re planning on it. Hopefully no work interferes to change that. But we should be good to go. Thanks for setting it up!
