Michael Broadbent receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Last Thursday, my father was awarded the 2009 Norman M. Lipman Lifetime Achievement Award from L’Ete du Vin. Unfortunately, my father was unable to attend the ceremony in Nashville, Tennessee but I was honored to accept it on his behalf.
On this YouTube clip, I accept the Award from Jimmy Collins of the Nashville Wine Press.

Congratulations to your father. What a wonderful achievement for a man who has given so much to the world of Fine Wines.

When I first started, his books were my bibles.

Congrats!

A local buddy of mine that is majorly into BDX, but not into online wine boards, was working as a wine steward in France and poured a 20+ year vertical of Lafite for Broadbent and others at a major dinner. He still has a signed copy of the tasting notes. Very cool to read those from back in the day.

Bartholomew,

We met at the Fête de la Fleur at Smith Haut Lafitte during Vinexpo 2007 (we were seated at the same table with Edouard Miailhe, my friend and EO mate). I told you then I have great admiration for your father’s work. The subject award is very much deserved.
