why the difference in allocation? i didn’t think MM did that. the mourved was ridiculously good out of barrel a year ago. i gotta say, though, that the '07 Beautiful Earth was drinking like an alcoholic mess when I popped one a month ago … i certainly hope all his '07’s aren’t like that.
Consistent producer, arguably the vintage of the decade - especially for rhone varieties along the Central Coast - and reasonable prices . . .

Brian- I had the Beautiful Earth about a week after bottling and it was gorgeous. Maybe its just going through its awkward phase? I have three in my locker so I’m tempted to pop one now to see where it is at.

I have two more laying down, as well. Go ahead and pop one now if you’re curious, but I would advise against it. The bottle I tasted was one I brought to FMIII’s “good, bad, ugly” offline, with the thought that it might win the tasting … so I was very disappointed when it showed as poorly as it did. I loved the ‘07’s when I tasted them from the barrel a bit more than a year ago, including B.E., so I’m hoping that it is only in an awkward place right now, but I really don’t know. FWIW, the ‘06 Beautiful Earth was maybe tied with the ‘06 Les Galets Syrah as my favorite of MM’s ‘06 lineup – I absolutely loved it!, so there’s no prejudice at work here. If you do pop one, let us know what you think about it.
