Mark Squires No Longer Reviewing Greek or Israeli Wines?

Saw this on eRP this morning…it’s a break down of the critics and their respective reports for 2010:

Saw no mention of Mr. Squires or those regions.

Sure doesn’t look like he’s reviewing anything this year.

No biggie for me as I have close to zero interest in those regions and have exactly zero interest in his wine opinions.

Chris

Bill, your link is not accessible to us WB members who refuse to put our money where our mouth is. I no longer pay the tongue thus can’t enter.
Is Squires mentioned in any regions other than never neverland?

Not true according to Bob’s sticky. He just has no dates yet. Add Lebanon to his host of duties as well.

It’s a grid and MS is not mentioned anywhere. I guess this is part of RP’s new commitment to quality!

Chris

Negative.

I skipped past this post because I cannot read Bob’s writing online with his lack of punctuation or paragraphs.

Edited for spelling

Only reason I read it b/c I love reading his ass kissing to the consumers that still pay to play. I find groveling very unbecoming.

I don’t know your personal interactions or thoughts on MS and frankly don’t care, but his Douro (Portugal) wine reviews have been some of the best I’ve ever seen come out of the Wine Advocate. While I don’t always agree with his online persona, he has done a very good job as a wine critic. In that regard I respect his reviews and scores.

He is still reviewing Portugal (dry wines) and some other regions as well.

I think MS’s Greece reviews are very good, both informative and in accurately assessing the wines.

Lebanon seems like a swell place for Mark to taste. Maybe he will get a chance to be introduced to some winemakers from Hezbollah.

Speaking of coverage, his analysis is GOLDEN.

Really shows you how much time people spend checking their “stock prices”.

“8. not 1 Burgundy…white or red, in the top 100…”

BTW, not to disturb the WA bashing session, but don’t throw Israel under the bus. Try a Domaine du Castel Grand Vin before you dismiss the whole country.

The explanation is simple: There’s no room for Greece or Israel this year because they have to publish all of Schildknecht’s overdue reports.

The explanation for that is pretty simple, there weren’t any Burgundy reviews till the Christmas week: http://dat.erobertparker.com/bboard/showpost.php?p=2831459&postcount=5" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i’ve written it elsewhere, but Mark Squires’s reviews are some of the best in TWA. I’d put them on par w/ Galloni’s as the best overall in terms of substance, context, etc.

Anyone else get a kick out of this line in the original post? [whistle.gif]

Jorge, that ws only because he always knew that the distributors providing the wines were also providing free food. [thumbs-up.gif]

[rofl.gif]

I’d be interested in the statistic of how many times My Wines has been pushed back?

Glad those “tech” guys have time for these #s[berserker.gif]
