Manhattan- eat-a-thon help

Ok, so far we are set up for Momofuku, Pok Pok, and Boqueria. We are in search of ethnic food, authenticity, and flavor. Wine not a requirement. What else should we hit? Staying in Flatiron.

Gotta throw some pizza in there: Motorino is at the top of my list if you don’t want to venture out to the boroughs.

A small, West Village bistro perhaps?

Steak?

Blue Ribbon fried chicken?

Sripraphai in Woodside queens is more authentic than Pok Pok. Easy yo get to on the #7 train.
When are you coming?

Great Sichuan food in Manhattan, Chinatown, Lan Sheng in midtown and Flushing Queens

Xian noodles

mmm spicy lamb face

Danji (or his other new place Hanjan) for sort-of authentic but very good Korean.

FWIW the internet seems to think Sirpraphai has gone downhill.

empellon taqueria
el toro blanca
kin shop
khe yo
as good as boqueria is, tertulia is probably a bit better

mission chinese and cantina as well
katz deli
uncle boon’s is awesome and one of my favorites (thai by ex per-se team)

who is the internet?
I have been going since 1998. It has changed and become more modern but still hits my thai spot flirtysmile

I had a great lunch last Friday at Yakitori Totto on 55th http://tottonyc.com/. Make sure to arrive early, was a significant wait by 12:15ish.

And if you don’t want to go out to Queens for Thai, Zabb Elee in the East Village is a fantastic option as well. Can’t remember eating such deliciously spicy food in forever.

Oh and Kenny, you should take advantage of the ramen craze going on in the city these days.

Really love Keste Pizza, which is pretty close to your area
271 Bleecker St

keste is west village but imo among the best

You guys are the best. Even Victor!

And definitely NOT Jorge neener

Thinking of a word. Ends in “Tah”. [bye.gif]

think i’m gonna get a food tour of my own tomorrow, probably thru the east village.
hoping to get to menkui tei finally, along with a few others.

jorge, menkui tei wasn’t mentioned on the ramen link you posted, but i recall from a prior post some nice things mentioned.

Mark, I think the article was highlighting newer or under-the-radar places. There were a lot of great places not mentioned there.

so do you have any preferences. i’m really due for a visit to ivan’s but i never find myself in that area.
