Mama Se Mama Sa Ma Mommessin

The 1973 Hospices de Beaune Meursault-Charmes ‘Cuvée de Bahèzre-de-Lanlay was raised by Mommessin and is fabulous aged white Burg. It has some white mushroom development coupled with notes of almond butter and hazelnut cream. It is full in the mouth and the vinous sweetness is just drying out a little. Grapefruit acidity cuts the finish and length of flavour is terrific. It was the absolute bomb with a pasta dish with champignon de Paris, enoki mushroom and white truffle sauce.

Just a regular Wednesday night at the Holmes’. Cheers and thanks for sharing.

Sometimes a Hospices wine can be a true find. Great note.

Nice notes, thanks!

A little Michael Jackson wine?? Sounds great!

Jerry, it certainly was a ‘thriller’ and as a match for the pasta I just couldn’t ‘beat it’.

I hope you looked at the man in the mirror and realized his good fortune.

Wow. Just wow.

1973 was a great year for white burgundy.

Pshaw. Jonathan Favre uses wines like this for steaming clams and mussels.

I don’t know what Mama saw (Mommessin) but looks like you saw a great bottle.

It’s seems it was so smooth it was criminal.
