Phil’s an Ann Arbor guy? Never knew that - no wonder I like him.
Seriously, folks, Bassin’s/MacArthur’s is the real deal. Buy with utter confidence. Pay a little more to do it.

Another vote for Phil - very knowledgeable and excellent service. I don’t live close by, but visit as often as I can. Before I got to know Phil, I browsed for awhile, then asked him for some recommendations my first few visits. Each time he first asked what wines I liked, what I liked about them, my price range, and made great recommendations. The only downside is he is bad for my budget and marital harmony.
A small but nice positive experience as a footnote to this thread: I saw the good comments, and unrelated was looking for some 02 DRC GE on wine searcher the other day which MacArthurs had in stock. Based on the good comments, I placed an order, paid, got the email, etc. I was going to wait for a few weeks to find a good weather opening to ship to Minnesota. Today “Jim” called and said he really didn’t want to ship it until there was better weather. I agreed, and said I was planning to call when the weather looked good and ship by air. Interestingly he stated that he viewed it as his responsibility to find the right weather window and his responsibility to call to get approval prior to shipping, as opposed to waiting for my call. Nice little touch, which likely says a lot about how they do business. And I’ve placed one order there in my life, so it wasn’t for a “good” customer.
Always been good on service. It was a the goal of Addy when he started the store, and has continued to this day.
+1
The whole crew over there is GREAT!
My favorite store! I have been buying their wines for over 10 years.
Anyone who buys DRC is a good customer.
