Madison WI Tasting Group/Berserkerfest

Too many wines, I didn’t make a list, and only posted a few notes on CT. Some excellent 1999 PC red burgs, 2000 Pichon Baron and 2003 Pontet Canet showing well, 1994 Dunn Howell showing painfully young imo, a very cerebral Kalin chard, and a fine variety of stuff from frappato to riesling. Bob and Tornado did a great job with the food, including some crazy good pork belly bites, super-tender sliced beef on toasts, and a nice cheese platter, shrimp cocktail, etc…

It was a great Party. Too many great wines and too drunk to remember them all. In addition to Tom’s comments above I remember an excellent Beaujolais. Other than that we have a nice group to taste with and that works really well for me!

Hello - reaching out to this thread over a decade later - moving to Madison WI from Cincinnati - I am looking for a wine community! This is my CellarTracker https://www.cellartracker.com/user.asp?iUserOverride=743639 - are there groups still active in Madison looking for new friends?

Not that I’ve ever found. Also BYO is illegal in the state so I’m not sure how this particular dinner came to pass.

I live in Madison and have been wanting to get a tasting group together for a while. As @MChang points out, one complicating factor is the corkage prohibition (thank you to the almighty Tavern League of Wisconsin), but I could potentially host a smallish group.
