Roy, thanks for posting here. I was hoping you would as I know that you have a lot of experience with Madeira (not that some others here don’t as well). I haven’t gotten a response from the guy so I suspect that he doesn’t want to part with the bottle. I’ll try to approach him in person one of these days.

If you ever want to visit the island and have one of the most amazing explorations of the remaining shippers and also see some really off the charts places where Madeira is kept hidden from the marketplace, let me know. I bring people over there every May.
