Made the last wave of the Saxum list. Offered 4 JBV. Issue is I already bought some thru others… so spent my $ but will get a couple bottles.
Happy to add some more… great wine, great people running the place. Thank you Justin!
Does anyone know in future releases how does it work for me? The same, a few btls of what remains? I ask because if I knew I were offered JBV only on lets say next allocation, I’d get some other bottlings as I have thru friends… Anyhow happy to say Saxum is my second largest part of my cellar after Bedrock…
I made the list 4 releases ago as a third waver. I have been offered 6, '10 Broken Stones, then 6, '11 JBV’s, 6, '11 Broken Stones and just recently 4, '12 JBV’s. So if my history tells you anything…
I believe my history is the exact same as Michael’s. I know that buying your full allocation is the best way to get increased allocations in the future, but I’m sure it still takes time. I’ve taken my full allocation the last two go-rounds, so hopefully I start seeing some other bottlings in the future.
You start on 3rd wave which gives you jbv in fall and broken stones in spring
2nd wave adds others
1st wave gives more again and magnums
I think as long as you buy occasionally you never get thrown of 3rd wave but you wont move up
Saxum is great juice and i have to say its my fav overall followed by a whole bunch of great cali wines from areas outside Napa, just to expensive there
I’m not that old but I feel like the guys with 82 Bordeaux with the $29 price tags still on them…bought Saxum in 2004 for $35 or $45, now they are $98, and still deliver the goods.
