………… Lunch for two

Found the Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin on the wine list of one of our favourite restaurants in Belgium at a good price that I couldn’t resist it.

  • 2009 Pierre-Yves Colin-Morey Rully Cailloux - France, Burgundy, Côte Chalonnaise, Rully
There was a hint of tropicality, but its sweetness was precise and more delicate despite covering a wide range of yellow tones. A delicious wine of the Cote Chalonnais.

  • 2012 Domaine Georges Mugneret-Gibourg Ruchottes-Chambertin - France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru
This was sensational in every way with red berry fruit, fresh strawberries and minerals.
Great weightless textures coming from refined acidity, minerality and very fine tannins. With lots of power and finesse on the very long finish. Drinking well young, but also has the balanced substance to age nicely for a couple of decades. An epic Ruchottes!

… NM might agree he scored this 2012 Ruchottes-Chambertin (98-100) !!!
