Luminary by Archery Summit

Anybody know anything about this? I haven’t bought from Archery Summit for quite some time, but I still get their emails. I just got one about a new blend called Luminary which claims to be ‘the first American wine to cross state lines and blend fruit from carefully curated, iconic properties in four renowned appellations.’ I’m more curious about this from an intellectual standpoint than anything… anybody excited about the idea of a multi-state wine? Or is this just one more arbitrary way to market?

Here’s the email for those interested:

AN INTRODUCTION

We are excited to introduce to you the newest member of our winery family, Luminary. This is the first American wine to cross state lines and blend fruit from carefully curated, iconic properties in four renowned appellations.

ABOUT LUMINARY

Luminary represents a unique collaboration of four seasoned winemakers from our sister properties Pine Ridge Vineyards, Seghesio Family Vineyards, Chamisal Vineyards and Double Canyon Vineyards. Each contributing winemaker is bound by a unifying passion for excellence, commands distinctly different winemaking techniques and shares years of diverse experience. The result is one shared effort to create an extraordinary work of art.

Just a point of information, Luminary is not “by” Archery Summit, nor does it have any Archery Summit fruit or juice as a part of the blend. It is a wine created from the other Crimson Wine Group properties, blending fruit from California and Washington.

Marketing BS at its finest.

Yes, you are correct, that’s my sloppy reading of the email. Thanks for pointing that out!

Yeah, that was my initial thought as well… I was just curious if it’s interesting at all beyond that, but perhaps it isn’t…
