Lugeresque Burgundy Table 2 - ( table 6!)

Just thought I’d start the thread (didn’t see one yet), see if anyone has any ideas.

I’ve got a decent assortment of red burgs starting from '95 vintage, and a handful of '93s, and a couple of '89s. Otherwise, what I have is '96 and newer.

Thoughts on a theme?

Table 7, 2nd Burgundy Table

Suzanne Camhi ('01 Roumier Bonnes Mares; '01 Jacques Prieur Montrachet )
Mark Golodetz ( interesting blind pair of Bonnes Mares )
Paul & Carla Hagerman ('98 Roumier Bonnes Mares + ? '98 ? + '93 Pernot Bienvenues Batard Montrachet )
Gil Bauer, Howard Menaker ('98 Dujac Clos St. Denis and '98 Echezeaux)
David Hamburger, Josh Konstadt

The other burg table had suggested a “Clos” theme - that’s an interesting way to link the wines - also could help figure out pairings for flights.

Okay, I admit, I’m home early from work and have free time, and I’m a bored. blahblah

Welcome, Paul! Glad you made your way over here.

how about a small vertical of Clos du Lambrays
I have 01 and younger…
or how about Bonnes Mares?

How about a Dujac theme. Seems as if everybody likes the wine, and I am sure we all have a bottle or two kicking around somewhere.

right now all I have of Dujac is the 04 and 06 Clos de la roche

A friend of Mark Golodetz’ - David Hamburger just joined this board and is joining this table with his +1.

I’ve got the '01 Clos de la Roche. That’s all I have from Dujac but I’d be happy to bring it.

Used to have some '93 Echezeaux, but I finished the last bottle last year. That was gooood stuff.

Not sure if I have any Clos du Lambrays, if I still do, it’d be either '98 or '01.

Thanks! I was without a clue that this board was catching all of the sane migrants - most of my activity on the other board was in social hall following the Negam-? thread, stock, etc so I really didn’t notice the change.

I thank Keith for sending me the link. [thankyou.gif]

I wouldn’t miss this tasting for the world. It’s the only sure thing (as in designated driver) I can count on from my wife - she’s a steak-lover so it’s an easy sell!

I only had the pleasure of David Hamburger’s company once and he is a great addition to the table.

If we go with the Bonnes Mares theme, I have a Jadot 1988 (or ever the geek, I would do a pair of related wines but we need to taste them blind to get maximum fun out of them.)

If Dujac, plenty of younger choices but a 1989 Combottes might work.

If we do Lambrays, I don’t have anything.

If you go '89, I believe I have an 89 from gevrey that would complement that wine nicely.

What is the geek idea you’re pondering - is it blind-geek, or ?

I have a few '98 BMs left from a good producer, i wouldnt mind checking in on it.

Paul,
It would be a pair of wines which I think would be interesting to serve blind. It would be in keeping with the Bonnes Mares theme.

That sounds interesting. I’ll think about what I’ve got around that may fit into a blind tasting theme too. Not that I have any idea what wines you’re talking about, just for the general wine-geek sake of it all!

we can offer an 01 Roumier Bonnes Mares.

I can offer a '98 Roumier Bonnes Mares.

That’d make an interesting couple to compare.

Paul
can you update the first post in the thread with the 2 Roumier BM (01 and 98)

Done!

with Just a couple of weeks to go.
We will also bring a white…2001 Jacques Prieur Montrachet and a back up in case of oxidation

That sounds great!

Anyone else at this table have any ideas for other flights?
