Love simple Bourgogne Rouge

Actually opened a bottle of this last night. Agree 100%. Just terrific Bourgogne!

I’ve never had the Millot Bourgogne or village wines but in general I’m a huge fan of the wines lately.

I want to try CdNV Aux Faulques, mostly because it’s fun to say.

I have one of those too, I’ll try and remember to post a note when I open it.

I’d recommend grabbing some 23 suchots; some well priced bottles out there and it’s my fav of her wines.

I had the 21 Millot VR and thought it compared really well to the 21 M-G VR I’d had a couple of weeks before - the M-G was slightly lighter and more elegant, while the Millot had more purity of fruit. Based on how much I enjoyed that I splurged on some 2019 Grands Echezeaux last week which are a bit out of my usual budget for wines.

In the past few months, I’ve opened and thoroughly enjoyed bottles of the 2020 Paul Pillot BR and the 2023 Benjamin Leroux BR. The Pillot was a little more red-fruited and leaner while the Leroux more brambly. But both were delicious.

Anyone make a good BR using declassified Gevrey-Chambertin fruit?

Mr. Bachelet

Two lieux-dits (Pressonier and Grand Champs) planted in 1977 and 1986 on limestone and clay soils. Grapes are 100% de-stemmed.

Is that wine named after Lord Farquaad from Shrek?

I had the 2022 CdNV recently and loved it.

Excellent. I’ve got the 23 Paul Pillot BR on deck for a mate that’s visiting tomorrow. I’m very bullish on their whites but have little experience with their reds.

Interestingly enough, I think their Chassagne Rouge is incredible for the price, they make a great Santenay as well which is crazy good for the price

Tawse Vigne Blanche. Outstanding to my taste.
