Anyone know of a better choice than this? http://www.crystalclassics.com/tritan/enoteca/0011111178.htm
I am ideally looking for a glass that will hold a magnum and be able to swirl it vigorously, I’m not sure about the swirling aspect of the above glass.
Ok…I’ll be the one to ask:
WTF for man???
I think CostPlus has some novelty glass. Have you googled novelty burgundy stem? Gotta ask…y?
Josh, check out Botega del Vino. Italian company with offices in Chicago. Take a look at the Calice.

I have no financial interest in this company at all. I used to sell them in Illinois. I own the Burgundy stems along with a bunch of others. I own the Calice and use it as a decanter from time to time. You can swirl it with a full magnum in there. The stem will hold up.
I just noticed they are sold out until April 30. If you need a glass like this before then I’d be happy to ship you mine. Maybe trade for wine or something.
Lets look at this another way: This stem is 90.4 oz for $46 (ignoring tax/shipping). That works out to about $.51 / ounce. The best price I see for the Riedel Sommelier Burg stem is $75 and it only holds 36 oz. That is about $2.03 / ounce, the QPR difference is notable.
Oooh update: The Calice is 97 oz (!) but at $270 that gives a clearly inferior $2.78 / oz.
As an aside, why fuck would ANYONE need a glass this large?
Seems like it would be awful to pour and to clean.
I thought that the Schott stem I linked to was a joke when I first saw it…
Check out that Botegga del Vino page. Look at the Rosso Burgunder. I own this glass and it is almost identical to the Riedel Burgundy Sommelier series glass. Except I can put the Rosso Burgunder in my dishwasher. Do a QPR on that one.
A dear friend insists on bringing his Bordeaux stem from the same line I believe to all of our events. It’s very big and oddly very balanced to handle. You could easily pour a bottle in it though I’m sure it would snap.
I’ll admit that I have four of the Zwiesel Enoteca Bordeaux glasses and I love them (although, mine aren’t the “XL” version). Reasonably priced too. I got mine for $24 per. Don’t use them except for really prized wines, but they are comfortable and I feel really accentuate the nose of a wine.
BTW, K&L has the Burg Enoteca for $20 per, but it’s “only” 32.5 oz.
30oz, while a bit large, is still a glass. 90oz is a boat
Come big or don’t come at all.
I’m extremely happy with my burgundy glasses (30 oz), made by Lenox, I got them at the Lenox Outlet Store in Carlsbad about four years ago… $40 for 4 burg glasses. Beautiful and flawless. Lucked out.
I admire your desire to want to swirl a magnum. You go boy!
