$150 for domestic Syrah is insane. At that price you should buy Cornas for peace of mind.
This. Love a lot of domestic syrah, but it’s totally different from Cuchet-Belliando.
Yes, I’ve had some of their wines. They do develop savory tertiary notes, but I think the fruit character and overall style are still quite a bit different from traditional producers in the Rhône.
Just popped the Halcon Estate, needs 7-10 years to tame tannin. Super primary right now, less of charcuterie and more of iron and blood.
PSA… The 2022 Halcon Estate is priced at $25/bottle if you join a K&L wine club. Cheapest club they offer is $20/month. Definitely worth it if you wanted to load up! Im debating
Yeah…100%.
Minimum 3 shipments commitment. That’s essentially $45 a pop and I’d rather wait for price slash.
I haven’t had one in forever, but the Cabot Syrah, on special offer during BerserkerDay, always had a lot of bacon fat and meat.
